Small Cup with Saucer 90 ml

Platinum lustre rim — not for the microwave

DKK 165incl. 25% moms

A small cup on a matching saucer, with a hand-applied platinum lustre line at the rim. The lustre is a real metal film, which is why this cup can never go in a microwave. Both cup and saucer are food contact articles and both are covered by the same Declaration of Compliance.

Delivery from DKK 45 in Denmark, free over DKK 600. 14-day right of withdrawal and two-year right to complain on everything here.

Cooling: 95 °C down to 55 °C in ten minutes

40 degrees over ten minutes. Ceramic has no vacuum layer. A thicker wall cools more slowly than a thin one, and that is the whole of the effect — none of these cups keep a drink hot the way a vacuum flask does.

The reading at ten minutes is measured. The points between are Newton’s law of cooling fitted through it — see how we measure cooling.

How to use it

Microwave
Not suitable. This cup carries a metallic lustre decoration. It must never go in a microwave: metallic decoration arcs and will damage both the cup and the oven.
Dishwasher
Hand wash. A dishwasher will dull this finish over time.
Temperature
Avoid sudden temperature changes. Do not pour boiling water into a cold cup straight from the fridge, and do not move a hot cup into cold water — ceramic can crack from thermal shock.
Variation
Each cup is finished by hand, so dimensions vary by up to ±5% and no two glazes are identical. Variation in colour, glaze pooling and small surface pinholes are characteristics of the process, not faults.

How and where it is made

Not sure this is the one?

Cup Match asks three questions and filters on the measurements rather than on taste. It will tell you which cups have a wall of 8 mm or more, which have a handle opening of 32 mm or more, and which have no handle at all.
